Un update....from far far away

What a great week this has been! I turned 41 (yes, I said it!) on
Wednesday and my friends at work made it a great day. Thursday we
took off for Puerto Rico! Before we did though, I ran to Walgreen's &
CVS to do some last minute deals. At Wags I got the free Ricola cough
drops and Aussie hairspray. I used a $1 coupon on the hairspray,
making that free too after the RR. At CVS, I found some Dry Idea
Clinical Strength roll on that was on clearance for $2.50! I had a $2
IP coupon from a while ago and the $1 coupon from the Minute Clinic
coupon book so money maker! I don't use roll on but it's worth a try
when they pay you to take it. I also used the $1 coupon from the
booklet to get free Kleenex- they are on sale for $.99! While at CVS,
I decided to visit the Minute Clinic - no line and I woke up with a
lot of pressure in my sinus area. Since I was leaving, and my friend
Kim has been after me to go to the doctor for xrays or something for
my cough, I figured I better have it checked out. Good thing I did - I
still have my sinus infection! The Nurse Practitioner said my sinus
cavity was VERY swollen. So, another round of antibiotics and some
Flonase for me - yay! Actually I do feel a ton better!
Puerto Rico is incredible - beautiful, clean and everyone is very
friendly. I have not been here for 17 years and it's as pretty as I
remember it. My parents retired here last year and they love it -
they are very happy and active. They are in a resort type area that
has pools, club houses, the beach, the Sheraton hotel with casino
right on the property. There are villas, condos, small homes and VERY
large homes in this gated community. It's great!
My mom says they don't use coupons here in PR - can you imagine?!?!
I told her that they must and she just doesn't know it. Ha ha. I will
be buying a paper tomorrow and Sunday to see if there are coupons or
not! Doug, my dad and the kids ran to Kmart to buy a few things and
paid $4.59 for a box of Frosted Flakes!! Yikes! I don't know if I
could have done it - considering I haven't paid more than $.50 for a
box of cereal in over a year! Of course I'm kidding - I would have
since we are on vacation but ugh - do you realize how many boxes $4.59
would buy during a good cat deal at Jewel? :-)
There is all kinds of shopping here - big malls with Sears, JC
Penny's, Macy's, etc. Also, Kmart, Walmart, Home Depot, Marshalls,
etc. everywhere. The main grocery store seems to be Ralph's. I plan
to hit a Wags tomorrow and look at their flyer and see how it
compares. I'll let you know what I find.
I hope you are getting some good deals back home. Happy Shopping!
