Old Navy

My friend Sherry told me about this at work today. On Saturday - 5/22 - Old Navy will have their flip flops on sale for $1.00! It is my understanding from other deals like this (tank tops, t-shirts, etc.) that they get pretty crazy on these days. I remember reading that someone had gone and bought the items the day before the sale and then went back with her receipt and got a price adjustment on the sale day. This way they did not have get there super early to fight the crowds trying to find their size. Just a thought.....

Good luck & Happy Shopping!

Butera

The Elgin Butera (Clock Tower Plaza) has been remodeled and they are having a Grand Re-Opening sale to celebrate! The best part is that the prices are good at the Algonquin & South Elgin stores too!

So, here is what I bought:

1 gallon milk - $.99 with coupon in ad (additional $5 purchase required)
2 dozen eggs - $.39 each (no coupon required)
15 Powerade drinks - Buy 7 at $1 each and get 8 FREE!!!
2 Piggly Wiggly White Bread - BOGO for $.90
1 12 pk Miller light (bottles) - $7.29 - I don't drink beer so I have no idea if this is a good price or not but that is the cheapest price out of all the ads this week and I need it for a party.
2 Italian loaves of bread (this is good stuff!) BOGO for $1.99
Strawberries - $1.50
Romaine lettuce - $.69
3 Avocados - 3/$1 Great Price!!
Deans Orange Juice - $.99

The deli was closed otherwise I would have gotten some Krakus ham which is $1.49 for a half pound.
Food Club sugar is $1.49
Bananas are $.29 a pound - I am not usually fond of the bananas at the S. Elgin Butera so I didn't buy them.

Hope you get to go to Butera this week! Happy Shopping!

Jewel

I finally made it to Jewel for a few transactions. This cat deal does NOT stack so you must do separate transactions to get multiple cats. You will only get one $5 coupon per transaction. The deal is - buy $20 in participating products and receive a $5 coupon good on your next order plus 50 bonus Box Tops.

Just like in the past, you can use the "sale" price to reach your $20. Jewel has three prices on most products: shelf, sale and Preferred price. In the ad it will show the Preferred price but you can use the Sale price to reach $20 - this is usually not the same price as the shelf price, sometimes it is but most of the times, it's off just a little bit - so make sure you scan your products at YOUR store at the price checker to find out what your stores sale price is. It can vary from store to store. If you do not get your $5 cat, there are several reasons this could have happened - the Catalina system was down momentarily, you picked up the wrong sized item, your sale price was not what you thought and you missed it by a few cents, etc. If this happens, you can either just take the stuff home and try again or you can return the items to customer service right then. Please don't take it home and return the items, once it leaves the store - they must throw the product away! Also, DO NOT complain to customer service, you are taking a risk by working the deal AGAINST the ad so they will tell you that the $20 must be in Preferred prices and that is the way it is advertised.

Transaction 1: 7 Suddenly Salads ($1 Preferred price/ $2.95 "sale" price), used 6 $.40 coupons so my OOP was $4.60 plus tax and I got the $5 cat coupon back! Money Maker!

Transaction 2: 21 Yoplait yogurts ($.50 Preferred/$.68 "sale"), used $2.25 in coupons. Plus 2 Suddenly Salads - I received the $5 cat PLUS a $2 cat for a double dip deal going on now where when you buy 20 Yoplait yogurts, you get $2! So, I paid $10.25 plus tax and received $7 back!

Transaction 3: 4 Cookie Crisp cereals, 1 Cinnamon Toast Crunch, 1 Suddenly Salad (used 2 $1.50/2 cereal coupons, 1 $.55 Cinnamon Toast Crunch coupon, 1 $.40 Suddenly Salad coupon) - paid $7.00 plus tax and received my $5 cat!

I plan on making it back tomorrow and do a few more transactions - I'll let you know how it goes.

Here is a list of participating products pictured in the ad. www.couponerswanted.com has a detailed UPC list available on their site.

Restaurant.com

www.restaurant.com has a new 80% off promotional code: ENJOY

Use this code to take 80% off of a $25 Gift Certificates and you will pay $2!

The code is good through 5/13.

We love Restaurant.com. You can get a great meal for little money! The last one we used was Ted Montana's Grill by Woodfield Mall - it was really good food, good service and our bill was super low! Love it!

Kmart

I do not have a Kmart close to me so I won't be doing this one but it's a good one so I thought I would post it for those of you that do have a Kmart by you.

I can't remember what site I saw this on but Kmart has Infusium 23 Hair Care products on a BOGO free sale. It says prices start at $5.99 - if you buy 2 of those products and use 2 $3 coupons from the 5/9SS, both would be FREE!

I have been out of the coupon loop so I have not seen this coupon but I guess it is out there on the Internet and is fraudulent so if you have printed it - please throw it out!
Here is the statement from Frito Lay:

The $5 Doritos coupon that is being spread throughout the Internet is counterfeit. It was not created, authorized or distributed by Frito-Lay. We are taking steps to notify our retail customers about the fraudulent coupon and to identify its source. You should not knowingly use a counterfeit coupon. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and confusion this has caused. Please watch for valid coupons and sales in stores, magazines, Sunday newspaper ads, and on our official websites.

I swear I have not deserted you! It has been three Wednesday's in a row that I did not even open my newspapers to look at the ads! I have just taken out the coupon inserts on Sunday's and put them in a pile - haven't even looked at those ads. Things have been nuts around here - well, it usually is but more nuts than normal! Doug has been working a ton and with painting and redecorating the house, staff appreciation for the middle school, and prom, I just have not been home much and when I am, I am baking or trying to catch up on things! As of today, staff appreciation is over, Prom is tonight (my daughter looked beautiful and her boyfriend looked so handsome!) The house is almost in order - still have a ton to do but for now, we are just doing the final touches on a few things. The crown molding and replacing the back door are next but those will have to wait until my wonderful brother-in-law can get back here to do that with a bit of Doug's help.

I am so thankful for my stockpile but it has dwindled down to nothing! So, I need to catch up and start doing some deals! My goal on Mother's Day is to go to church, have my family over for a nice early dinner and then get on the Internet and make my shopping list for the week! I will write up what I find for you on Sunday night or Monday morning.

Thanks for sticking it out with me during this overly busy time in our household! Happy Shopping!
