Well, we are back from vacation and really - I don't want to be! :-) It was a great week but I guess back to reality it is! I've posted some pictures here (sorry about the quality - for some reason they do not transfer well from the iPhone on here) to let you see why it's hard to be back. The first one is of Alex and Papa getting coconuts out of a palm tree, second - the kids in the pool at my parents place, third - Amanda and Grandma on the beach 1 minute away from the house and last is the view from my mom & dad's front yard! We will definately be saving to try to get back there soon! :-)
Tomorrow I will spend some time going through whatever deals there are to be had this week - probably not too much since it's after Black Friday but we will see..........
Normally after a holiday, there are not coupon inserts in the Sunday paper - tomorrow there will be a P&G insert though so you may want to pick up a paper if you don't get it delivered. It doesn't look like there are a ton of great coupons in there but those P&G coupons do come in handy sometimes so you want at least one insert. There is a P & G deal at Jewel that I see and will post more info on it tomorrow. We have "nothing" in this house to eat or so I am told by my daughter so I will have to make a Jewel run tomorrow.
Here's a funny story - If you have been stockpiling for a while, you know that you run to the store with your list - get what's cheap or free (how many depends on how many coupons you have) and whatever else you need that is necessary and that's it - no impulse buys, etc. Well, since we had been running around site seeing or at the beach or pool from Friday to Wednesday of last week - we needed to go to the grocery store and get the last items for our Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. It was absolutely nuts - WAY worse than any pre-holiday grocery shopping I have ever done here. The parking lots were FULL and thousands of people shopping (they do not open stores at all on Thanksgiving in Puerto Rico my mom said) but we had no choice so we parked in the strip mall parking lot next door and went in. We got everything we needed and then some and at the check out, Amanda says to me with a huge smile on her face, "this is SO much fun! We NEVER go shopping like this at home!" I just started cracking up as she told Grandma how we just stick to the list and she doesn't get to just buy things unless it's a deal or I have a coupon. Now, I am not THAT bad (sometimes I let them get stuff!) but she is about 98% right! Well, $70 later - we know why! :-)
Hope you got some good deals yesterday and today if you went shopping!
