My wonderful hubby ordered a gift for me and it arrived today! It is called Neat Receipts and I will write up more about it after I get it downloaded and working since I really don't know anything about it. If I feel a bit better, I might be able to get it started tomorrow - we'll see. This weekend for sure though.
I don't know too much about it but here are a few things that the website - http://www.neatco.com/ - says it will do:
1. Manage and track expenses for Flexible Spending Accounts.
2. Run monthly reports to track spending by category and see where your money is going.
3. Maintain records of purchases for insurance purposes (in case of burglary, fire, etc.)
4. Organize business estimates, work orders, invoices and contracts.
5. Keep digital copies of your most important paper documents - birth and marriage certificates, wills, deeds, etc.
6. Organize warranties and manuals for appliances, electronics, and other equipment.
7. Save newspaper and magazine articles and share them via email.
8. Scan your recipes, then use a keyword search to find those with the ingredients you have on hand.
9. Scan prescriptions to keep track of refills and possible drug interactions.
10. Preserve children's report cards, homework and artwork
Since at any point in time, we (ok, I) have a mountain of paperwork on the kitchen island or at the computer desk, this will be really great tool to cut that down and be able to find things right away, when I need them. I love all things organizational!
This is sold on their website and on Amazon.com for around $200 but Doug bought this on www.woot.com (one of his favorite sites!) for around 65% off of that price! See, all of the family gets into this savings thing! :-)
Thanks for my gift babe - I love it!
