Jewel

Well, I tried and failed yesterday at Jewel! See, it happens to everyone....................

I wanted the Q-tips, so I stopped at the Bartlett Jewel after dinner at Pasta Mia. They did not have any of the 500 count but had a lot of the 375 count so I scanned one at the price checker and it came up $2.99 - sale price $2.50. I figured out that I would have to get 11 to be over $30 but I will get back $27 so that's ok. Well, it didn't work! They scanned at the register at $2.50 not $2.99 less preferred savings...... like usual. I ended up getting a $7 cat but they cost $29 so not a good deal! It was my fault because I had Doug do that transaction while I went to the Redbox with the kids. I didn't tell him they were supposed to ring up at $2.99 or that I was expecting $27 in cats so he had no clue. When it didn't work out, I thought "oh well, something went wrong" and we left. I did not want to go to customer service because I was using the "sale" price and not the ad price. It was when we were in the car that I noticed that the price rang up at $2.50 and not the normal way! Live and learn I guess. I have heard that the 300 and 375 count are really messing people up so if at all possible - stick with the 500 count!

I did buy 5 more Breyer ice cream though (not for us - they ALL were for Mr. Breen!) and paid $11 using my $4 coupon from the day before and got back $15 plus another $4 coupon. Yay! I handed him the ice cream and he wanted to know how much I owed him, I said "Nothing, I just made $4 buying it for you!" He couldn't believe it. Anyone else want ice cream?!?!? :-)

FYI: There are still problems with the All Laundry detergent. Make sure you do not get one that has a UPC starting with a 7. Get only the ones on the list and make sure they are not scanning at $3.49 - you want them to scan at $5.49 before preferred savings!

By the way, dinner at Pasta Mia was great! I am mentioning this because we used a Restaurant.com certificate that I bought with code SUPPER. It was 50% off with that code. So, I paid $5 for a $25 certificate. You have to spend $50 for that one (they do have a $10 certificate that you must spend $20 for also). We got an appetizer, 4 meals 2 drinks (my kids wanted water????) and 2 desserts and including tip (on the $50) paid $36! That was a GREAT meal with LOTS of food for $36! We even have leftovers. Normally we don't get the appetizer or dessert and end up paying over $45 for a nice dinner. Not only did we get the $25 certificate for $5, but when they sent my confirmation email, I also got another one stating that I earned a $10 credit as well! It's a special promotion going on right now. It is on my account and I can use it at whatever restaurant I want! They have lots of good restaurants on there so check them out!
