One down, many to go..........

Just did my first deal at Jewel for this week (not counting the ice cream madness on Halloween!) and am sure there are many to go. Here is what I ended up with.

8 single roll Scott paper towels - 1.99 sale price/1.29 preferred price = 15.92/10.32
6 Betty Crocker yellow cake mixes - 1.49 sale/.99 pref. = 8.94/5.94
1 Betty Crocker scallop potatoes - 1.89 sale/1.69 pref. = 1.89/1.69
2 Betty Crocker frostings - 2.29 sale/1.69 pref. = 4.58/3.38

So I have $31.33 in "sale" price but am paying only $21.33 in preferred price. I did have 2 coupons with me for the Scott paper towels but did not have my coupons for the potatoes or frosting. These were purchased only because Amanda wanted to make something for dinner tonight using the potatoes and she just likes the frosting! :-) So, I paid $19.33 plus tax and got back $15 in cats! Good deal!

I ran around getting "sale" prices (at my store - make sure to check the prices at your store because it can vary!) on some of the items in the ad. *** Beware if you are buying tea - there were some teas that were on sale for $2.99 but I don't think those are part of the deal because the ad shows $2.49 but double check the UPC list to see if they are on there! Also, there were some large boxes on clearance for $2.49 but this is the price that you would need to use because that will be the "sale" price that scans***

Here are some scenarios that I have read about people doing.

11 Progresso broths - pay $16.39 if you don't have coupons (there are some on http://www.coupons.com/, http://www.smartsource.com/ and 10/4GM) and get back $15. If you have coupons, it's a MM!!

16 single rolls of Scott paper towels. Use four $1 off 4 coupons (10/4 SS, 11/1 SS, or print at: http://print.coupons.com/alink.asp?go=14473wd2910. You will pay less than $2 for 16 rolls of paper towels! If you can find any at your store - you can always place an order. I may do that.

Buy 6 Hellmann's squeeze Easy Out Mayo 30 oz at $5.39 "sale", $2.99 preferred price. Pay $17.94 plus tax, get $15 -- $3.34 for 6 mayo's!

This deal does stack - meaning you can buy $60 worth of items (sale prices) and get $30.00 back in cats. Here is an idea for a stacking deal:
Buy 10 Breyers ice cream. At my store they are ringing up $5.99 so even with 10 you would only be at $59.99 and would need to add an item (paper towels, Kleenex) to get over $60 in “sale” prices. Even without coupons (10/18RP) you would pay $31.19 and get back $30.00!!! This is riskier than even the regular way but once you are ahead and have saved a lot of $$ - give it a shot!
